About

I spent two decades in the operating seat. Coaching is how I use that now.

This page is the reason to trust the work — not a biography for its own sake.

Campbell Carew

I have spent more than twenty years building and leading security functions inside organisations that cannot treat cyber as a side project: large resources companies, major banks, a national airline, energy producers, a large health insurer, large retail, and Australian state government agencies. The work covered governance and risk, program delivery, and security operations — including SOC transformation and incident response at a scale where the numbers are not theoretical.

I am a CISSP. I hold a Master of Business Leadership. I teach risk and project/agile delivery as a sessional academic at Murdoch University. Those credentials matter because the people I coach are judged on evidence, not on enthusiasm.

I completed a Certificate IV in Mentoring and Coaching with the Global Coaching Academy in 2010, built on ICF core competencies. I have delivered more than 500 hours of individual and group coaching. I am currently pursuing the ICF PCC credential. The coaching craft is trained, supervised, and accumulating hours — it is not a second career I invented after leaving the industry.

I came to this work because I watched capable security leaders leave roles they were good at — not because they lacked a framework, but because the decision load, the board, and the pace were unmanaged.
